I started baking when I was about ten years old, and I made some cookies. When I finished them, they were blackened and completely inedible. After my brother saw them, he told me that I couldn't cook and he went to lacrosse practice. After that experience, I have spent a large amount of my free time watching cooking videos and memorizing recipes. Now, I can make perfectly good, (and not blackened) cookies. My interest in cooking non-pastry items came from watching cooking videos on YouTube and wishing that I could make things like that. I can now make about 10 or more baking and cooking items, such as:
Steak
Cookies
Sourdough
Homemade pasta
Fried rice
Duck
Quail
Whitetail deer
Elk
Blacktail deer
Banana bread
I enjoy cooking because it has taught me patience (especially with sourdough) and not to give up if you fail.
